If you have ever given Mass Effect, Dead Space, Bioshock, Borderlands, and Fallout 3 a go, you would most probably be wowed by those titles, and it might be interesting to note that System Shock 2 did influence those seminal titles in one way or another. Of course, System Shock 2 was released at a time when gaming on the computer was a whole lot more primitive, and in the 21st century, you can now play the game.
From this Thursday onwards, GOG.com, a website that specializes in selling old computer games which were specially optimized for modern PCs, will put up System Shock 2 for sale at $10. System Shock 2 has been hailed to be one of the best games ever, placing you in an eerie space station that has been evacuated, with only scattered audio logs informing you on what went wrong. Hmmm, someone should make a modern day Walking Dead shooter, except that we have zombies in space stations. Wait a minute here, hasn’t that been done in Doom already? Would you pick up System Shock 2 to relive the adventure for $10?
