Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (HGST) has become a part of Western Digital in March of last year. The takeover has led to the development of a new 2.5-inch 1 TB hard drive, which rotates at 7200 RPM and has 32 MB of cache memory. The new Travelstar hard disk is 9.5 millimetres tall and is available as individual disk, as well as a Touro Mobile Pro external storage model, equipped with a USB 3.0 interface.
