As we get closer to September, which is purportedly when the next-gen iPhone will be announced, images of alleged leaked components are starting to become more commonplace. It wasn’t too long ago when the SIM tray for the next-gen iPhone was spotted, revealing Apple’s plans to use the nano SIM standard for its upcoming device. Now thanks to the folks at iColorOS, more images of the next-gen iPhone have surfaced. This is not a photo of the fully assembled device, but rather some of the alleged components belonging to the phone. This includes the glass cover, internal sensors, external buttons along with a thin sheet of metal which we assume belongs to the iPhone’s back.

Now if you’ve seen the leaked images before, you will know that the next-gen iPhone is expected to be two-toned in color, with the middle of the backplate being a different shade compared to the rest of the device. If that is true, then this metal sheet may very well be it. We’re not sure if this was done purely for aesthetic reasons or for EMI shielding and whatnot, but we guess we will have to wait and see if the final product will actually look like the leaked images. In any case be sure to check back with us in September for the details! Until then we suggest you take this with a grain of salt.
